“I love Teresa! There is something about the way she walks you through a pose that allows you to squeeze every bit of goodness from it. Her verbal queues direct so well that even a beginner like me can properly move through asanas to get the maximum benefit from them. She is knowledgeable and patient and able to help her students adapt no matter their experience, strength or flexibility. Take a class with her. You won’t be sorry!” — Carol G.

SEASONAL YOGA COURSES
Winter Extended Practice & Meditation
Saturday December 21
10:00 am – 12:00 pm EST/ 7:00 am – 9:am PST
Winter Solstice has been celebrated in cultures all over the world for thousands of years. The start of the solar year is a celebration of Light and the rebirth of the Sun. A solstice occurs twice a year, whenever Earth’s axis tilts the most toward or away from the Sun, causing the Sun to be farthest north or south at noon. The name is derived from the Latin sol (sun) and sistere (to stand still). At the solstice, the Sun stands still in declination, that is, its movement north or south is minimal. This is the time of greatest darkness when we seek within ourselves to comprehend our true nature.
We’ll begin with a gathering of our circle, yoga practice & meditation. Together we will turn inward, and let go of what is no longer serving us in our lives. Following our opening yoga practice, we will take time to be silent and open to what we want to manifest in the coming year. There will be time set aside to journal or sit, as you prefer. We will close with a short restorative yoga practice and final meditation, sealing in our intentions for the new year.
Bring a yoga mat and a journal or notebook.
All levels are welcome. Class size is limited to 12
COST: $45

Flip the Switch: A 12-Day Yoga Meditation Mindset Challenge
Monday 1/6– Friday 1/17
5:30 pm – 6:30 pm EST/2 pm – 3 pm PST
Calling all souls and anyone feeling the pull of scattered energy. Ready for a shift?
Commit to moving from:
- Resistance to Receptivity
- Grief to Gratitude
- Strength & Restriction to Surrender & Expansion
As energetic beings, many of us are feeling a combination of things during this demanding time of change and evolution. For example – you might experience a sense that time is speeding up – which could trigger a sense that you are not moving fast enough or can’t keep up. You might experience feelings of depression or anxiety that may or may not have a clear source from within yourself. You might also be experiencing a sense of fear and hopelessness with the many tragic incidents that are happening all around us.
One of the principles in yoga is looking at our body, mind, and emotions as a single container for energy. Through the discipline of yoga, we have the ability to become masterful at directing that energy to our core, physically and mentally, for health and well-being. Through the practice, we can learn about any “leaks” in our container and how to seal off those leaks. This develops an inner strength to teach us how to respond to life experiences in a healthier way.
What can we do to take care of ourselves during this time? How de we respond?
I believe we can respond by committing more of ourselves to each of our own respective inner journey. This kind of commitment may seem to some “selfish” or “not enough.” This is old “programming” or “samskaras” as we say in yoga. It’s can be a mindset that prevents us from doing the inner work. Moving forward, all signs point to the refinement of this “inner journey” for each of us as a way to heal not just ourselves, but the collective.
When we do our “inner work,” we connect to the flow of life. We can then see our place in it with more clarity.
“Your task is not to seek for Love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built up against it.” – Rumi
Think of this 12-day program as a way to commit to a new daily rhythm in order to bring you closer to a true shift in mindset, creativity and inspiration. Accountability is built in when we do it together!

Reiki
Reiki Master Training and Certification
Meets for 6 classes, Monthly, 10:30 am – 12:30 pm
Begins January 16, 2020
It’s been my experience that the best way to teach Mastery is over several months, giving you homework and allowing for you to process and ground what you are learning as well as learn how to use it ethically and responsibly. The level of human consciousness is changing rapidly, and there are some other techniques I’d like to introduce to address how I think and experience the need for energy practices to evolve. Classes will meet monthly for 6 months, for two hours each. You will have homework and meditations to support your personal growth as well as deepening your understanding of how to work with clients. The final class will be offered outdoors with an additional master attunement.
Included in the classes:
- *Review and use of symbols from level II
- *Master level reiki symbols and their uses/meaning
- *Attunement rituals
- *How to build a Reiki practice
- *What to watch for with clients and tools needed to respond
- *Elements of teaching Level I and II
- *Understanding your own places of resistance to healing yourself
- *Working in/with nature
- *Daily meditations
- *Reiki Master Certification
At the completion of the class, if you have attended all the sessions, you will receive a Reiki Master Level Certification. With this certification comes the responsibility to eventually teach it to others. There are all kinds of ways to use and practice responsibly without making it a business, but I will give you the tools to do that.
Classes are on Thursdays, once a month, from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm, with the exception of the June class, which is on a Tuesday.
Dates are: 1/16; 2/13; 3/12; 4/9; 5/7; 6/23.
Class size is limited to 4 students.
Prerequisites: Must have completed Level 1 & 2.
Cost: $110 per session (discounted to $100 for cash payment)

She is certified in yoga, yoga therapy and as a continuing education provider. She offers both public and private classes, workshops, and retreats in Marin County and Atlanta, Georgia, her current home. One-on-one therapeutic specialties include the nervous system, pelvic floor, asthma/respiratory conditions, hormonal/energy imbalances and a wide variety of orthopedic applications.
She has been studying yoga since 1997. Her primary influences include Tias Little, Aadil Palkhivala, and Mark Horner. She is trained in the Iyengar style with an eclectic mix of intensive work with Forrest Yoga, Vini, and Shadow Yoga. She received her Yoga Therapy certification in 2004.
Teresa’s approach reflects her experience as a longtime competitive athlete, healthcare advocate, event and group facilitator, wife and mother of two young adults. She weaves together her life experience, love of yoga and spiritual exploration, with an eye toward keeping her classes both accessible and challenging.
Skilled in tracking the movement and grounding of energy, she is a Reiki Master and continues to expand her training in other forms of subtle-body healing. She is currently a dedicated student of Shadow Yoga.
Yoga has a clever way of sneaking up on you. With consistent practice, little delicious “aha” moments arise and illuminate your inner knowing.
Deeply rooted in the classical Hatha Yoga tradition, we seek to support every student in their quest to find their personal approach to Yoga. Public classes are limited to 8 students for a more intimate and effective learning experience. We strongly believe Yoga is accessible to everyone, regardless of physical limitation. In our small studio environment, there is a strong sense of community and shared learning. Beginners learn from more advanced students and more advanced students learn from beginners.
Every class is designed to be safe, challenging and engaging, regardless of your yoga experience. We give our students a strong foundation in proper alignment and reinforce the concept of “Beginner’s Mind.” Both are essential tools for understanding the energetic principles behind yoga and the “rajas” or “juice” available in a space without force or aggression.
About Reiki
Teresa is a Reiki Master trained in the Usui Shiki Ryoho tradition.
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing.
Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
- Reiki treatments are available for $85/hour or $130/90 minutes.
- Sliding scale is available.
